About the Show
TEN’s spectacular family entertainment series Australian Survivor returns for a second season in 2017.
Hosted by the charismatic and insightful Jonathan LaPaglia, Australian Survivor is an unrelenting test of courage, endurance and strength that pushes even the toughest of competitors to their limits.
The tropical island of Samoa, with its extreme beauty and untamed wilderness, is once again the stunning backdrop to the ultimate game on earth. New landscapes will take the game to a brand new level and unique locations will form the battleground for bigger, bolder and never before seen challenges.
This year the 24 brave new contestants are aged between 20 and 51. With little more than big plans and high hopes, they will arrive in Samoa to battle each other, and themselves, mentally, physically and emotionally.
Only one will remain standing as Australia’s Sole Survivor.
For up to 55 days, with little sleep and even less food, they must endure a merciless climate of torrential rain and extreme humidity to outwit, outplay and outlast each other in a bid to take home $500,000.
Each day that the contestants are marooned on the unforgiving, rugged tropical island, they will be tested like never before. They must negotiate their way through the endless perils of social networking and ever-changing alliances, test the limits of their moral code and push their bodies and their minds past breaking point. Competing in rigorous and demanding physical challenges where losing is not an option and giving up is forbidden, they must learn to fend for themselves to secure even the most basic of needs.
The epic conclusion to season one saw Army Corporal El, senior account executive Kristie and former professional cricketer Lee take their determination to the next level when they competed in the final challenge – an endurance Hand On An Idol test – which set new records across the Survivor franchises as the longest challenge of its kind in history.
It all came down to the final Tribal Council and the last words for the final two: Kristie and Lee. After a strong speech, the quiet strategic mastermind game play of Kristie saw her named Sole Survivor.
Who will take out the title in 2017?
Will a down-to-earth farmer take out the game or will a wily nanny blindside a lawyer? Can a quirky photographer outshine a model? Can an endurance athlete muscle their way in front or can a former SAS commander out-manoeuvre them all? It is the game that keeps everyone guessing until the very last minute.
This is Australian Survivor.
