The Bachelor Australia Season 5

The mo! The lingo!

He’s a sporting legend

When it comes to Rugby Union, this bloke is one of the best. The last 10 years have seen the winger don the Wallabies' green and gold for 15 Test Matches, play a season with the Aussie Sevens and pick up silver medal at the Commonwealth Games. A stint with the Western Force, and overseas in Japan, round out his rather impressive career, not that the humble Honey Badger would want to toot his own horn.

Family first

Nick takes his role as son and brother very seriously, putting the health and happiness of his father and seven siblings first. At the height of his career, Nick made the difficult decision to quit Australian rugby to pursue a higher-paid opportunity in Japan. The reason? He wanted to support his seriously ill dad, brother and sister, who all require costly medical treatment. Nick recently took some of his fam on an adventure-packed holiday around the Northern Territory, making beautiful memories to last a lifetime. We're not crying, you're crying!

Badger by name, badger by nature

You'd have to be living under a rock not to have heard Nick's nickname, 'Honey Badger.' But what does it actually mean? Nick adopted the moniker years ago after discovering the honey badger on Animal Planet. The tough little critter will boldly do battle with predators far larger and more venomous that itself, and it was this 'never say die' attitude that really resonated with Nick. And so the Honey Badger was born!

The lingo

While adept at scoring tries on the footy field, it was Nick's outrageously ocker post-match interviews that truly won Australia's heart. What are now known as 'Badger-isms,' phrases such as "mad as a cut snake," and the very cheeky "off like a bride's nightie" became synonymous with Nick's knockabout persona. We cannot wait to see - and hear - what gold this true blue Romeo brings to The Bachelor.

He's a bit of a hunk

Let's not beat around the bush here: Nick's easy on the eye, too. And we're not the only ones who think so, with undie brand Tradie featuring the hunky footballer - in naught but a pair of jocks - in several of their ad campaigns. And don't get us started on the curls, or the mo; we're here for it all.

Look out, bachelorettes.
