Gorgi Coghlan

Gorgi Coghlan has a background in news, current affairs, travel, entertainment, science, education and professional singing. Surely being a regular host on The Project beats all that.

Gorgi is also well known as previous co-host of the Logie Award winning morning program “The Circle” on Channel Ten in 2010 to 2012, along with co-hosts Chrissie Swan, Yumi Stynes and Denis Drysdale. Gorgi came to Ten after a four year stint at the Nine Network, where she began as a news reporter before becoming a travel reporter for the Today Show. She was also involved in live coverage of horse racing events and New Year’s Eve celebrations, and presented on the real estate show My Home.

Gorgi holds a Bachelor of Science (majoring in pharmacology and zoology) and a Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary) specialising in biology and science. She taught four years of secondary college, coordinating 240 students at year levels 9, 10 and V.C.E. No doubt this was excellent training for when Waleed is in argument mode. All of this makes her a valued member of the panel for the past five years and one of the most well-rounded television presenters in the industry.

Gorgi is a classically trained singer and professional stage performer, not only performing at Carols by Candlelight, but also playing the understudy to the lead role in the Melbourne season of the Queen/Ben Elton musical We Will Rock You. She also performed with David Campbell at the Melbourne Arts Centre in the musical Carousel.

In 2006, Gorgi released her first solo album 'Edward', dedicated to her late grandfather who inspired her love of singing and music.

She's also a former state-level equestrian competitor in eventing and dressage. So that's all the goss on Gorgi. Hang on, no it's not. Her most important role of all, she is a proud mum to Molly-Rose.

OK. NOW we're done. We'd better wrap this up before she achieves more things, and puts the rest of our panel to shame.
