A man has died after becoming trapped inside a manufacturing tank at an ink factory in western Sydney this morning.

Emergency services said three men were “trapped by compression” at the Chisholm Road, Auburn site at about 8.45 this morning.

Rescue crews were able to rescue two men from the tank, with at least one being taken to Westmead Hospital with leg fractures.

The second man was rescued shortly after 11am this morning, and is believed to be in a critical condition.

Emergency services worked to rescue the final man in a "complex" operation, but the man tragically passed away.

He was believed to be in his 30's or 40's.

More to come.
