Teenager has been extradited to face charges over grandmother's murder

The 19-year-old grandson of Pauline Farrugia today appeared at Melbourne’s Magistrates Court after his arrest over the murder of his grandmother, who was found stabbed to death at her South Penrith, NSW home on Wednesday.During a brief hearing attended by NSW detectives, Ethan Harwood’s extradition was granted by a magistrate.
He will be flown to Sydney later today before his appearance in Parramatta Court tomorrow, where he will face charges over his grandmother’s murder.
Harwood was arrested by Victoria Police at a rural home in Nhill, western Victoria, on Thursday morning.
Police will allege the teenager attacked Ms Farrugia after an argument during a family gathering on Friday before his return home to Victoria.
The arrest followed the establishment of Strike Force Tillock, the joint investigation effort of Penrith Local Area Command and the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.
