A Russian woman has been charged after allegedly glassing a man with an empty wine bottle during a violent brawl on a P&O Pacific Explorer cruise ship on Sunday night.

About 12.55am, a brawl between several men including the woman’s husband broke out onboard the ship in front of a bar called the Blue Room, during an argument about a toilet line queue.

During the fight, the 37-year-old Russian national allegedly struck a 21-year-old man on the head, causing a laceration.

The injured man was treated by medical personnel on board the ship while security separated the men who were detained.

Six men, including the injured man and the woman, were removed from the ship at Bradley's Head.

The men were subsequently released without charge pending further inquiries, while the woman was taken to Newtown Police Station.

Marine Area Command investigators charged her with reckless wounding and affray.

The woman was granted conditional bail and appeared at the Downing Centre Local Court on Friday.

It is reported that the group was enjoying a buck’s party on the cruise ship, until it was forced to turn back to Sydney.
