A man has been arrested after he crashed into a pole during a police chase in Sydney’s south-west.

At about 11.15pm, officers tried to pull over a Honda Accord for a random breath test on Cabramatta Road, Cabramatta.

After the car failed to stop, police pursued the car before it crashed into a pole on the Hume Highway in Liverpool.

The driver, a 30-year-old man, suffered jaw injuries and was taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment.

He also underwent mandatory blood and urine testing, and is expected to be charged once released from hospital.

Two passengers were allowed to leave the scene by police pending further investigations.
