A 36-year-old man was fatally stabbed to death last night during a violent home invasion in Sydney’s west.

Emergency services were called to a home on Livingston Avenue in Dharruk at about 9:45pm on Friday following reports of a home invasion.

Police said initial inquiries suggested a “group of men” had entered the victim’s home and threatened him, before stabbing him and fleeing the scene.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attempted to resuscitate the man at the scene before being taking him to hospital, where he later died.

Police are currently searching for the suspected group of men, who were last seen heading east on Kidbridge Avenue in Dharruk.

Mount Druitt Police and the NSW Homicide Squad have established a crime scene at the home and opened a murder investigation.
