TEN's Biggest Game of Cricket
Published: 14 January 2016
Tonight, cricket history will be made. The biggest and most anticipated game of the year is nigh. And we’re not talking about the Melbourne Stars v Brisbane Heat.
The place: A backyard in Taree, New South Wales. The time: the innings break of the Melbourne Stars v Brisbane Heat match. The players: The Mighty Mitchell family, Ricky Ponting, Andrew Gilchrist and Freddie Flintoff. It’s going to be just one part of the Biggest Game of Cricket.
The Biggest Game of Cricket is the Ponting Foundation’s major annual fundraising initiative that sees thousands of Australians taking to their own pitch in the backyard, on the beach, in the park or at their local cricket club, to raise money for young people living with cancer.
The Mitchell family from Taree will have an especially tough match – up against cricket legends on national television. Let’s hope the home ground advantage works in their favour.
