Ten Is The Home Of Aussie Drama In 2017

Published: 04 November 2016

Australian drama lovers have lots to look forward to next year, with Network Ten announcing a host of compelling local content for 2017.

From the makers of Offspring, Sisters is a contemporary feel-good family drama that asks the big questions: what makes you you; what is the difference between being related and being a family; and does it pay to have DNA tests before sleeping with someone?

Exploring this fertile terrain is a superb cast that includes Barry Otto, Catherine McClements, Lucy Durack, Maria Angelico, Antonia Prebble, Remy Hii, Dan Spielman, Charlie Garber, Roy Billing, Zindzi Okenyo and the fabulous Magda Szubanski.

Wake In Fright is a brand new two-part adaptation of Kenneth Cook’s classic Australian novel, which tells the story of John Grant, a young school teacher who descends into his own personal nightmare after being stranded in the small outback mining town of Bundanyabba.

Chilling and utterly compelling, Wake In Fright is guaranteed to stay with viewers long into the night and – possibly – for years to come.

fans can breathe easy that their beloved Proudmans will be back for another season. Asher Keddie, Kat Stewart and the rest of the all-star cast will return to make you laugh and tug at your heartstrings like only they can.

Joining them in the line-up will be a second season for Ten’s hit The Wrong Girl, giving viewers a chance to follow a new year of delightful misadventures with Jessica Marais’ irresistible Lily.

With a sensational selection of US dramas also announced as part of the jam-packed new year line-up, TEN continues to be the home of great entertainment.
