Ten News Statement
Published: 29 August 2017
On 22 August 2017, TEN ran a news story on TEN Eyewitness News regarding the postal survey on same-sex marriage and a controversial poster that had reportedly appeared in a Melbourne laneway.
In the course of the report, TEN showed an image of the poster on a bus shelter.
The poster in question had been taken down when TEN’s film crew visited the laneway in question so we were forced to source a copy online.
Unfortunately, an oversight in briefing our graphics department interstate resulted in an image that may have created a false impression about the location and size of the poster.
This overlay footage should have also been clearly identified as a graphical recreation for viewers.
TEN apologises for any confusion created by the broadcast of the image.
