A three-year-old boy, barefooted and wearing nothing but pyjamas, was found wandering aimlessly and alone along a Melbourne street overnight.
Police say the toddler was spotted on Morris Street in Melton about 2am. He was wearing blue pyjamas but no shoes or socks when he was found by a local resident.
Authorities described his condition as cold, shaken and afraid.
The youngster was unable to tell officers his name or his parents’ name.
The Melton resident took the little boy to the local police station and he has since been reunited with his mother who arrived at the station shortly before 7am.
News Corp reports that a man, not believed to be known to the boy or his family, turned up at the police station and told officers he had seen the boy wandering the streets alone a few months ago.
Authorities have not released an image of the boy but have described him as having blonde-brown hair.
