And he's done it; Winterbottom takes out the race.
The Pepsi Max Crew bounced back from a slow start at the Clipsal 500, making a great start to the 2015 Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne on Friday.
Mark Winterbottom and Pepsi Max Crew teammate Chaz Mostert came in at first and second place respectively for both Race 1 and Race 2 on Friday 13th March.
In the second race a Safety Car was called on the very first lap after Dale Wood smashed into a wall with some help from Scott McLaughlin in his Volvo.
An 18 month drought was broken for the Pepsi Max Crew when Winterbottom took out pole position on the opening day of the event.
Race 2 saw Shane Van Gisbergen take third place, followed by James Courtney in fourth and Jamie Whincup in fifth.
